Tuesday was a rough outing for Braden Letney, but Twelve Baseball Academy Black still managed to pull out a 7-5 victory over South Florida Renegades in five innings at Cape Coral Sports Complex, Field four.
Letney allowed five in two-thirds, but the bullpen gave up no runs and the offense banged out eight to pick up the slack and secure the win for Twelve Baseball Academy Black.
Luke Boyd racked up two RBIs on one hit for Twelve Baseball Academy Black. He homered in the third inning.
South Florida Renegades' lineup had no answer for Shane Lawless. South Florida Renegades managed just two hits off of Lawless, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his 4 1/3 innings of work.
Kevin Perez led South Florida Renegades' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.
The bottom of the first saw South Florida Renegades take an early lead, 5-0. Kenneth Moreno-Costa singled to ignite South Florida Renegades' offense. A stolen base then moved Moreno-Costa from first to second. Edgar Perez singled, plating Moreno-Costa. More runs came home for South Florida Renegades when Perez, Padilla and Clara scored on a three-run double by Tomas Hernandez and scored on a solo home run by Perez.
Twelve Baseball Academy Black didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the fourth inning when it scored on a passed ball and an RBI single by Beau Orlando.
