Even though McKay Petitta struggled on Friday, the East Cobb Astros Texas Orange found a way to pull through and defeat the St. Louis Pirates 21-5 in five innings at Lee County Sports Complex (Twins), Fld five.
Petitta allowed five in four, but the bullpen gave up no runs and the offense banged out 14 to pick up the slack and secure the win for the East Cobb Astros Texas Orange.
Nine runs in the first three innings helped the East Cobb Astros Texas Orange blow out the St. Louis Pirates. An RBI single by Daz Cameron and a two-run single by Tyler Stephenson in the first inning and an RBI double by Blake Jackson, a fielder's choice, and a three-run home run by Gulliam during the second inning helped the East Cobb Astros Texas Orange put some runs on the board early.
Reggie Pruitt racked up five RBIs on four hits for the East Cobb Astros Texas Orange. He singled in the first and second innings, tripled in the third inning, and doubled in the fourth inning.
The East Cobb Astros Texas Orange pounded the St. Louis Pirates pitching, as seven hitters combined for 13 hits, 19 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
Mason Baty lasted just 1 2/3 innings on the mound for the St. Louis Pirates before being removed. Baty surrendered seven hits and eight runs.
